I’m the proud mayor of Sacramento, the next great American city. I started my job as mayor in 2017 after serving in the state Legislature, where I was elected as Senate leader and focused on creating career pathways for young people, building sustainable communities and ensuring that our schools work for everyone. I wrote the Mental Health Services Act, which raises $2 billion a year to help the mentally ill homeless. As Mayor, I’ve used my statewide experience to tackle difficult problems like homelessness and economic inequity. I am committed to making Sacramento a city that connects economic growth to all of our neighborhoods.
